Treasury Associate
Job Description
The Treasury Associate plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Treasury Department, ensuring effective cash and funds management, accurate and timely transaction recording, and full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards. The role involves handling trade and non-trade transactions in coordination with banks and internal departments, assisting in foreign exchange and hedging transactions, and providing support for treasury-related projects and initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Treasury Operations:
- Supports daily cash and funds management activities to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements.
- Prepares and monitors cash positions, bank balances, and fund transfers across multiple bank accounts.
- Coordinates with internal departments on cash flow needs and funding requirements.
- Transaction Handling:
- Processes both trade-related (e.g., import/export financing, letters of credit, OA/DR) and non-trade transactions in coordination with bank partners.
- Ensures timely and accurate settlement, posting, and recording of all Treasury transactions in accordance with internal controls.
- Verifies completeness and correctness of supporting documents before processing transactions.
- Foreign Exchange and Hedging Activities:
- Assists in sourcing and booking foreign currency for trade and non-trade requirements.
- Supports the execution and monitoring of foreign exchange forwards and other hedging instruments to manage currency risk.
- Tracks market movements and provides support in evaluating swap points and potential hedging opportunities.
- Bank Coordination and Compliance:
- Maintains productive relationships with banking partners to ensure timely service delivery and access to bank products.
- Ensures full compliance with company policies, banking regulations, and audit requirements.
- Maintains accurate records and logs of bank transactions and Treasury activities for monitoring and audit purposes.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly Treasury reports, such as market updates, FX hedging summary, and funding forecasts.
- Monitors bank charges, transaction costs, and service fees to support cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Project and Process Support:
- Provides support for Treasury-related projects such as system upgrades, policy reviews, or process improvement initiatives.
- Participates in testing, documentation, and implementation of Treasury tools or new banking platforms.
- Assists in the development and updating of Treasury operations manuals and workflow procedures.
- Other Duties:
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time in support of Treasury or Finance Department.
Job Qualification
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in treasury operations, trade finance, or foreign exchange transactions preferred.
- Knowledgeable in Treasury operations, trade finance instruments, and foreign currency markets.
- Familiarity with banking systems, online platforms, and documentations required for financial transactions.
- Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—with the ability to coordinate across departments and external institutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; highly detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Willing to be assigned in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
